Stefani Hemphill, PT, MPT

Stefani is a licensed physical therapist with over 20 years of experience.  She began her career in New York City working at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in research and burn rehabilitation.  She moved to Los Angeles and continued her career in outpatient orthopedics.  She became a certified Pilates instructor in 2002.  Stefani is trained in Neurac, Redcord Corrective Exercise, Gyrotonics, Dry Needling, Kinesiotaping, Craniosacral therapy and Visceral Manipulation.  She has spent much of her career working in the integrative physical therapy setting and women’s health.  She trained with New York’s Harkness Institute for dance

injuries and worked with professional dancers while in Los Angeles.

Stefani loves the outdoors and hiking. In her years of practice, as well as through her own injuries, she has come to know that if a person is to recover from pain or an injury, it is impossible to focus attention on just the area of symptoms, it is crucial that she work with the whole person and to look for the root causes of dysfunction.

Stefani combines manual therapy techniques along with a traditional evidence based physical therapy philosophy when working with patients.  Her goal is to empower patients through education, providing them with things they can do on a daily basis to improve their physical wellness and quality of life.

Stefani specializes in working with patients that have not responded to conventional or other treatments.  This includes, but is not limited to, individuals with low back and neck pain, joint pain, digestive issues, fibromyalgia, migraines/headaches, as well as acute injuries such as whiplash.  All sessions are one on one, customizing treatments to the individual’s needs.
